Caregiver Support
For 13 (since 1996) years, CareGuide@Home has been helping people like you and me figure out how to best care for an elderly or disabled loved one. We feel like we’ve seen it all:
- Cognitively declining parents who are no longer able to safely care for themselves
- Siblings that have conflicting opinions of the type of care their elderly parents should receive or need
- Transfer and adjustment to assisted living facilities from the independence of their own home
- Recommending resources or modifications in the home to help keep mom or dad home safely
- Referrals for driving tests to confirm ability or inability to continue to drive safely
- Coordinating friendly visitor programs to help increase socialization and brighten someone’s day
We’ve learned a lot about how to help families. We know what types of resources are available and how to access them. We arrange for in-home assessments to determine the best next steps. Our nurses and social workers have helped numerous families navigate the emotional aspects to caregiving.
Our team of case managers with geriatric expertise have started this blog to serve as a resource for our clients and for those of you who are searching the Internet for answers. Together, we can face the caregiving challenges that lie ahead.
We look forward to hearing from you and hope that you’ll respond to our blog posts with comments. Also, let us know how we can help. Because helping others is our passion and our business.
